Ariana Grande Herself Praises Halle Bailey's Unreal Crystal Clear Cover of "Hampstead"
The Wicked star took to the comment section to praise Bailey's version of her newest song.
The only person who can sing an Ariana Grande song as effortlessly as the Wicked star (and former The Voice Coach) herself? Probably Halle Bailey. To celebrate the release of Grande's Eternal Sunshine: Deluxe Edition, Bailey sat down in the studio to sing her favorite new tune.
Halle Bailey sounds angelic singing "Hampstead"
On the new version of the album, Grande reflects on her time in England (where Wicked was filmed) on "Hampstead," singing about losing her heart in a pub and maturing into a new version of herself. Bailey loved the melody and sat down in a recording studio to sing it herself while playing the guitar.
"Hampstead is my fav song off ariana’s deluxe :)💕" she shared on Instagram. Fans of both singers were overjoyed by the cover, clamoring for a collab in the comments. As one put it simply, "her voice is so CLEARRR😍✨✨." It's true. In fact, Grande herself re-posted Bailey's video to her Instagram Stories, and commented "so beautiful ♡ ♡ ♡," the ultimate endorsement from one singer to another.
Okay, now we want a collaboration, too!
Though it may be April, any Bailey fan should definitely check out her A Motown Christmas special, which is currently streaming on Peacock. Bailey co-hosted the event with Motown legend Smokey Robinson, and welcomed guest performers including Ashanti, Andra Day, BeBe Winans, Jamie Foxx, JoJo, October London, mgk, Pentatonix, Jordin Sparks, the cast of the Broadway show MJ The Musical, Gladys Knight, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and the Temptations.
Or you could just watch her other stunning covers, like her takes on Mariah Carey, Etta James, and Diana Ross.
