Why You Recognize Gary on Grosse Pointe Garden Society
Actor Saamer Usmani portrays the playboy realtor embroiled in an affair with Aja Naomi King's Catherine.
While each member of the Grosse Pointe Garden Society has their own complicated web of baggage, Catherine's (Aja Naomi King) seems to come down to one man: Gary.
Played by Saamer Usmani, Gary is Catherine's fellow realtor we learned she was having an affair with in the pilot episode. The two would have clandestine hookups while they were supposed to be showing houses, and he even gifted her a diamond tennis bracelet.
"She's trying to present this image of perfection and that's kind of where the fun really begins with Catherine because she's trying so hard to project this image and yet underneath you just know that she has all this dissatisfaction and yearning that's not being met," King tells NBC Insider. "So then her life starts growing wildly out of control as she makes choices that will basically kind of destroy everything she's built up, starting with having an affair and that going sideways."

However, it's eventually discovered that Gary's been sleeping with half the women in town, including Birdie (Melissa Fumero). Catherine helps to expose him to his other lovers and their boss — whom also happens to be his father-in-law. Kicked out of his home, Gary manipulates his way into Catherine's guest house — gun in hand — but something tells us she's not going down without a fight.
Now, if throughout all of this you couldn't help but feel Usmani looked incredibly familiar, there's likely a reason. Read more below to find out where you've seen him before.
