Gal Gadot Opens Up About Her Dangerous Pregnancy Health Scare: "Get Checked"
The Snow White star shared her brain clot symptoms because "someone out there in the world is going to have the same thing."
Gal Gadot is a superhero on and off the screen.
In December 2024, the Snow White actress revealed she was diagnosed with a "massive blood clot" in her brain while pregnant with her daughter, Ori. During her March 10 interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Gadot spoke about surviving her terrifying medical emergency when she was "very pregnant," which made her realize "what it means to be scared to death."
"I'm talking about it just because I think it's so important," an emotional Gadot told Jimmy Fallon. "Because someone out there in the world is going to have the same thing, and because she heard my story, she's going to get checked. Then I've done my part."

Gadot had a blood clot. "A huge one, like three," she told Jimmy Fallon, joking, "When I do something, I do it all the way, you know?"
As for her symptoms, "I had major headaches for three weeks," Gadot explained. She noted that she had seen multiple doctors and neurologists.
"You've got to advocate for your health. Our bodies are always communicating with us," she added. "We just need to listen and get checked. If anything, you're going to over-check yourself, but it's better to over-check than to not check."
The Wonder Woman actress recalled how the doctors assumed her pains were "probably a migraine. 'It's the hormones.'"
"Then, three weeks later, after having those crazy headaches, my mom is like, 'You need to check it now. Just go and get an MRI,'" she said.
"We did. They found out this horrible thing, and we were rushed to the hospital. They got the baby out immediately, and I went through a thrombectomy. I had the most amazing team," she said, thanking the doctors and nurses. "They saved my life."
"Just love yourself and check yourself and be on top of your health," she implored the audience.

In a December 2024 Instagram post, Gadot recounted being "rushed to the hospital" after being diagnosed with the blood clot. "Within hours, I underwent emergency surgery."
"My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear. Her name, meaning 'my light,' wasn’t chosen by chance," she wrote in the Instagram caption. "Before the surgery, I told Jaron [ Varsano, Gadot's husband] that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel."
"I made it through and began the road to recovery," Gadot continued. "Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back."
