Dwyane Wade Is "Besties" with Jenna Bush Hager's Twin Barbara: "Dwyane Bush"

The NBA legend spilled the tea on TODAY with Jenna & Friends.

By Chris Phelan

Viewers tuning in to TODAY with Jenna & Friends are witnessing some amazing chemistry between Jenna Bush Hager and her guest co-host for the week, Dwyane Wade.

How to Watch

Watch TODAY weekdays at 7AM ET on NBC.

As it turns out, the three-time NBA Champion already became "besties" with Hager's twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, weeks before he started his co-hosting gig. In an Instagram clip from Wade's first show on March 10, he explained the connection to viewers.

"We met a couple weeks ago in San Francisco," he explained.

"She works for the NBA, she does their social giving, and y’all become besties," Hager chimed in, explaining her sister is the vice president of social impact for the league.

However, their first meeting led to a major friendship!

"We became besties, but it was all about you," Wade confessed with a grin. "It was really to make you jealous. And you shoulda saw us though, trying to come up with all the things that we could find. She’s like, 'All right, how about we grab this glass and we cheers' — we were just doing stuff."

It's so like a twin sister to try to one-up the other. Well, that's quite alright with Hager, who turned the tables on her sis as only she could. She raised her coffee mug for a toast with Wade, almost to say, Who's winning now?

"Hey, by the way, two can play at this game, Barbara," she said as they clinked mugs.

All joking aside, Hager revealed that Barbara had nothing but good things to say about the retired basketball superstar ("You're going to fall in love with him") and even D-Wade himself confessed that he feels at home around the sisters these days!

"I'm part of the family now," Wade admitted before Hager officially welcomed him into the Bush extended family.

"You are, you are," she said. "Dwyane Bush."

"Welcome to the family 😂🤣 #JennaandFriends," the show’s caption read.

Something tells us that by the end of the week, Hager and Wade will be besties in every sense of the word. The star will be co-hosting through Friday, March 14!

After being put on the spot by Savannah Guthrie during TODAY on March 3, the rumor mill was working overdrive regarding Hager's plan to have a fourth child. Guthrie revealed she dreamt that Hager was pregnant the night before and tried to see if her dream had any meaning.

Hager was quick to put any rumors to rest.

"I have nothing to announce," the 43-year-old confessed. "I'm pretty sure I've come to terms that three, although it's an imperfect number, is a perfect number for our household."

Although she would love to have another baby (Hager cited her husband's age — Henry will be 47 in May — as the deciding factor) it's definitely not an issue of whether she is "too old" to have a baby!

"I'm still quite young," Hager said.

"...ish," Guthrie quipped, drawing tons of laughter from the crew.
