Darci Lynne's Vocals Are Tailor-Made For This Angsty T-Swift Breakup Anthem
The AGT Season 12 winner channeled Taylor Swift in impressive fashion.
Darci Lynne just dropped an impressive cover of a Taylor Swift deep cut!
For years, the America's Got Talent Season 12 winner has been performing cover after cover of popular songs on social media, and in an April 23 Instagram post, Lynne finally gave the people what they want: another Swift cover! It's a jaw-dropping version of T-Swift's 2006 hit "Picture to Burn" — complete with Lynne playing piano. The track must be one of Lynne's favorites, as she previously covered it in 2023.
Lynne has one of the best voices around, and she proved it once again with "Picture to Burn," one of Swift's most recognizable breakup songs from earlier in her career. (The song is nearly two decades old, after all.)
"Some Taylor for ya 😊🫶🏻," Lynne wrote in a caption.
Lynne's voice shines as she tackles the song's high notes with ease. Fans definitely notice the extra swagger in her voice, too. Playing piano seems to energize her vocals even more than usual!

The song is difficult to sing, ratcheting up and down in tempo at times, but the 20-year-old handles it with no problem at all. In fact, some fans in her comment section believe that Lynne performs "Picture to Burn" better than Swift ever did.
Here's what to know about "Picture to Burn"
Released off Swift's 2006 self-titled debut album, "Picture to Burn" helped propel the then-16-year-old to superstardom. The breakup anthem was an immediate hit, hitting #3 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and spending 20 weeks on it. The track also reached #28 on the Hot 100 chart.

In the United States, it was certified 2x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Although the track is the literal definition of teenage angst, Swift has gone on the record by saying that she feels differently about the song now that so much time has passed.
"I had this song called 'Picture To Burn,' that's talking about how 'I hate your truck,' and 'I hate that you ignored me,' 'I hate you,'" she once told MTV, as reported by the BBC. "Now, the way that I would say that and the way that I would feel that kind of pain is a lot different."
