Dakota Johnson Roasted the "Big Dumb Cups" Trend in SNL's Sketch

When Materialists star Dakota Johnson hosted Saturday Night Live in Season 49, she starred in a sketch that took on the ubiquitous Stanley Cup trend of 2023/early 2024: "Big Dumb Cups."
Johnson joined Chloe Fineman and Heidi Gardner to promote a product that's perfect for, according to the sketch, "pretty ladies who drive a big car," are "between 12 and 70 and go to Target every day," and are "physically or at least spiritually blonde." Before Owala came on the scene, it was the hottest accessory of the season!
Johnson, Fineman, and Gardner appear to be standing on a trail that overlooks a beautiful mountain, spaced several awkward feet apart while holding Stanley cups that are, in fact, pretty big.
"Is there a void in your life?" Fineman's character asks. "Fill it with cup."
"Have women killed for this cup?" Gardner's character says. "Almost, and a bunch."
"This is the cup that says, 'I'm a virgin but I also have six kids,'" adds Johnson's character.

Dakota Johnson's Big Dumb Cup kept growing in SNL's sketch
Big Dumb Cup can be there for all the important moments in your life, such as when you need to transport an entire bottle of Josh wine, or when your car explodes and you want to make sure that at the very least, your cup will survive.
And don't just get one cup. Get at least two cups, so there's a cup for your grandma's ashes when she dies. Get a cup for each of your kids, named Brixton, Braxton, Brownstone, and Lil' Stanley. Get the cup designed by Ugg. Get a cup that slowly gets bigger and bigger until you fit inside your cup. Get a cup that's pregnant with another cup. Get a cup to hold as you walk down the aisle to marry the love of your life, who somehow isn't also a cup.

Saturday Night Live also skewered Big Dumb Hats and Big Dumb Lines with Joe Jonas
Cups are not the only things that are big and dumb, according to SNL.
"Big Dumb Cups" is the sequel to Amy Schumer's Season 48 sketch with Gardner and Fineman to tout "Big Dumb Hats."
In Season 50, Mikey Madison's episode featured a pre-taped musical sketch, "Big Dumb Line," about the many lines that form around New York City when there are viral products to try. Joe Jonas even made a surprise appearance to encourage questioning queuer Bowen Yang:
