These Saturday Night Live Easter Sketches Deliver Laughs for Every Bunny

From Melissa McCarthy's Sean Spicer as the Easter Bunny to Michael Keaton's wonderfully weird entry, the show's long found ways to put a new spin on the holiday.

By Samantha Vincenty

Easter falls on April 20 in 2025 — but if it's not too early to snack on those Cadbury mini eggs (is it still a "snack" when you eat 200?), it's also time to dig into Saturday Night Live's best sketches inspired by the season.

How to Watch

Watch Saturday Night Live Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and Peacock, streaming next day on Peacock.

Granted, there are fewer Easter SNL sketches than the bounty inspired by Christmas, Halloween, and even Thanksgiving — is it because egg-centric jokes are the hardest to write? Your guess is as good as ours, but the picks below are a sweet spring treat. Several also happen to be delightfully strange (looking at you, Micheal Keaton), though one could argue that a myth about an enormous supernatural rabbit is a little offbeat, too.

Watch SNL's best Easter sketches

From Melissa McCarthy's Sean Spicer as the White House bunny rabbit to Kristen Wiig and Will Forte's Jackie and Clancy, revisit the most memorable entries in SNL's Easter canon below.

Melissa McCarthy dressed as Press Secretary Sean Spicer in a bunny suit on Saturday Night Live Season 42, Episode 18.

Easter Message from Sean Spicer with Melissa McCarthy

Sean Spicer has been gone from the White House since the middle of the first Trump presidency, but Melissa McCarthy's impersonation of the former Press Secretary is forever. In this sketch, Spicer adds an aggressive vibe to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll before bursting through the entire set in an Easter Egg mobile in classic go-big-or-go-home McCarthy style.

Clancy T. Bachleratt and Jackie Snad Sing Easter Songs with Seth Rogen

Famous music producer Kirby Spabblespoov (Seth Rogen) brings you "golden-voiced" duo Jackie and Clancy (Kristen Wiig and Will Forte), a recurring duo here to sing Easter tunes about "the four things that everyone agrees make America so great: Spaceships, toddlers, Model-T cars, and jars of beer."

Michael Keaton's Easter Candy

Hard to describe why this somewhat recurring holiday sketch — there's a "Halloween Candy" installment with Ed Norton, and a St. Patrick's Day one with Bill Hader — is so amusing. But it's definitely about Keaton, Kate McKinnon, and Bobby Moynihan's deep commitment to the weirdness.

Under-Underground: Crunk-Ass Easter Festival

Underground Festival: Easter

This 2013 sketch starring Jason Sudeikis as DJ Supersoak and Nasim Pedrad as Lil Blaster harkens back to a time when the internet was obsessed with Insane Clown Posse's over-the-top Gathering of the Juggalos commercials. RIP, Ass Dan.

Drunk Uncle on Easter

Bobby Moynihan's slurry, behind-the-times Drunk Uncle character is pretty adorable in bunny ears (less so when he hilariously shoves a giant wad of Peeps in his mouth).

Weekend Update: Smokery Farm’s Easter Meats

Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant were always delightful comedy partners during their time as cast members, and these quirky characters were no exception. The Smokery Farms owners tell a giggly Colin Jost how they "only serve meat from animals that genuinely deserve to be killed."

Trump Easter Cold Open 2023

Trump Easter Cold Open

As with the cold open for the April 12, 2025 episode, SNL's President Trump (played by James Austin Johnson since Season 47) made the resurrection of Christ all about him. Three women named Mary (Sarah Sherman, Chloe Fineman, and Heidi Gardner) marvel at the tomb opening, right up until Trump steps out instead of Jesus.

I Wish It Was Christmas Today V

Oh, you thought "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" is only for the Yuletide? Not if a young Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, Chris Kattan, and Horatio Sanz have anything to say about it. (With special guest Simon Cowell on maracas!)

Bunny Business with Taylor Swift

Bunny Business

Okay, you caught us — this sketch aired in November 2009, so it's definitely not a seasonal sketch. But a bunny IS involved, and Host Taylor Swift does a solid "She Wolf"-era Shakira impression, so happy Easter to you!
