30 Rock

Tina Fey as Liz Lemon

Named for the iconic location in New York City where NBC still makes its home, this beloved and acclaimed comedy series stars Tina Fey (who also co-created the series) as Liz Lemon, the writer behind a struggling sketch comedy show who must contend simultaneously with a quirky network executive (Alec Baldwin), her diva best friend (Jane Krakowski), and the show's eccentric new star (Tracy Morgan). It starts as a send-up of modern television production, but the real meat of 30 Rock is something much stranger, a satire packed with moments of nonsense that feel more relevant by the day.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Detective Jake Peralta on Brooklyn Nine Nine episode 517

Set in the eponymous New York Police Department precinct, Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows a group of detectives as they go about their daily lives and try to solve every case that comes across their desks, from ridiculous to often surprisingly dramatic. Andy Samberg stars as Jake Peralta, and while he's the biggest comedy hitter in the show, he's far from the only one. From Melissa Fumero to Chelsea Peretti to the late, great Andre Braugher, this ensemble will win your heart and never stop making you laugh.

Community

Created by Dan Harmon, Community follows the exploits of a group of misfit students who form a study group at a community college, and find friendship, love, and mayhem along the way. Though it's best remembered now for its theme episodes, which covered everything from pillow forts to Goodfellas parodies, it's also one of those shows that'll make you think with every new development. It's also, of course, legendary for helping launch the stardom of co-stars like Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, and more.

Everybody Loves Raymond

Ray and Debra looking at each other and smiling in Everybody Loves Raymond Season 9, Episode 16.

There's a reason that, 20 years after ending its run, Everybody Loves Raymond is still a perennially popular syndicated series. Starring Ray Romano as sports writer Ray Barone, and following the wild, everyday adventures of his family, it's a show packed with great comedic performances, including acclaimed work by Brad Barrett, Patricia Heaton, Peter Boyle, and Doris Roberts. Best remembered for the often bonkers arguments depicted between members of the Barone family, it's also a series with tremendous heart, and an honesty about the ways in which families work that still holds up today.

A relative newcomer to the Peacock comedy scene, Mr. Throwback stars Adam Pally as a down-and-out sports memorabilia and merch dealer who calls in a favor to his childhood friend and teammate, NBA great Steph Curry (who plays himself). The Office

Steve Carell as Michael Scott and Amy Ryan as Holly Flax pose together

You know about this one, even if you've somehow never seen it. The beloved NBC sitcom, based on the U.K. series of the same name, turned 20 in 2025, which means that longtime fans are celebrating with yet another rewatch, and new fans are finding the show for the first time. If you're somehow still not invested in the antics at Dunder Mifflin Scranton, and the incredible ensemble cast inside that office, now's the time to get on board. Parks and Recreation

Leslie Knope sitting at a table with food and decorations on Parks and Recreation Season 6, Episode 17.

A spiritual successor to The Office featuring some of the same talent behind the camera, Parks and Rec follows the title department in the Midwest city of Pawnee, Indiana. It's there that go-getter Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) tries to make her mark on local government in the best way possible, no matter what her staunch anti-government boss Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) has to say about it. It starts as what feels like a riff on The Office, which is funny enough, but what makes Parks and Rec so special is how it evolves into a show with a bizarre spirit all its own.

Scrubs

The Janitor (Neil Flynn) holds a holiday stick next to Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian in Scrubs Episode 203.

Another of the all-time great workplace sitcoms, Scrubs was created and helmed by Ted Lasso and Shrinking mastermind Bill Lawrence, and follows a group of medical students as they settle in to become residents at Sacred Heart Hospital. It's there that Dr. John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff) and his best friend Chris Turk (Donald Faison) join the staff, fall in love, and -- with the help of J.D.'s boundless imagination -- get up to all kinds of hijinks. It sounds simple, but the way that Scrubs is able to flex all of its storytelling muscles over the course of nine seasons, including some of the most heartbreaking TV of the 21st century, is truly impressive.

St. Denis Medical

Alex and Dr. Bruce talking in St. Denis Medical Season 1, Episode 15.

Hey, did you love Scrubs and now want another great medical sitcom? Or maybe you loved NBC's Superstore and want to see what the minds behind that series are up to next. Well, St. Denis Medical is the show for you. Set in the title hospital in the Pacific Northwest, the show follows the hospital staff, led by their oddball administrator (Wendi McLendon-Covey), as they save lives and just try to keep their own lives afloat outside the world of the hospital. The ensemble cast, led by Allison Tolman and David Alan Grier, is instantly endearing, and anyone who's ever had an overtired nurse in their lives will no doubt appreciate the humor.
