Actor Bio

Ben Koldyke plays Jimmy Hooper in the NBC comedy "Mr. Robinson."

An actor, writer and producer, Koldyke has been working in television nonstop for the last five years. He was most recently in the Cullen brothers' half-hour comedy "Back in the Game," alongside James Caan and Maggie Lawson. Prior to that, Koldyke had a guest-starring role on Aaron Sorkin's "The Newsroom," opposite Jeff Daniels and Olivia Munn. Other TV roles include "Big Love" and "How I Met Your Mother," as well as several network pilots.

On the feature side, Koldyke recently wrapped production opposite Chris Pine, Eric Bana and Casey Affleck in Craig Gillespie's "The Finest Hours."

Prior to entering show business, Koldyke was a high school English teacher and football coach in Chicago. He got his big break after meeting "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-creator Rob McElhenney in a coffee shop and convincing him to watch the short films he wrote and directed. This led to his first project, the Fox pilot "Boldly Going Nowhere."
