Obie and Lortel Award winner Ruff is an accomplished stage and screen actor with a resume ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary and political works. Her Broadway credits include "All the Way," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Fences," starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. Most recently she starred off-Broadway in the 2019 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama "Fairview." She received Drama League nominations for Distinguished Performance for her roles in "X: Or, Betty Shabazz v. the Nation" (2018) and "The Piano Lesson" (2013), for which she also won the 2013 Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. In 2007, she won the Obie Award for her outstanding performance in August Wilson's "Seven Guitars."
