SOFIA BOWERS

Played By Katherine LaNasa

Actor Bio

Katherine LaNasa stars in NBC's midseason drama "Deception" as Sofia Bowers, the ultra-glamorous second wife of Robert Bowers and mother to Mia Bowers. Sofia will go to great lengths to get what she wants through whatever means necessary and no matter who stands in her way.

LaNasa has already garnered huge success this year with the release of Warner Bros.' smash hit summer comedy "The Campaign" starring Will Ferrell and the Billy Bob Thornton-directed "Jayne Mansfield's Car," which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and enjoyed a high-profile screening at the Toronto International Film Festival this past September.

A New Orleans native, LaNasa is a classically trained ballerina, studying the craft at a young age at the highly regarded North Carolina School of the Arts. Later, LaNasa took on an apprenticeship with the Milwaukee Ballet and then danced with Salt Lake City's Ballet West and the Karole Armitage Ballet. During a chance trip to Los Angeles for a LIFE Magazine shoot with her ballet company, LaNasa met former husband, the late, legendary actor Dennis Hopper, with whom she shares a child. After a bicoastal relationship, LaNasa eventually moved to Los Angeles where she caught the acting bug. Inspired by Hopper and greats like Sydney Pollack and Sanford Meisner, she attended The Neighborhood Playhouse to hone her craft.

Quickly, LaNasa's charm led to her landing roles on a slew of notable primetime television series, including a lead role on the NBC comedy series "Three Sisters." Since then, LaNasa has made a number of primetime guest appearances, including memorable roles on "Two and a Half Men," "Big Love," "Lie to Me," "Justified" and "House." On the big screen, she appeared alongside Jude Law in the 2004 remake of "Alfie," as well as 2010's celebrity-studded feature "Valentine's Day."

Along with her numerous professional highlights of 2012, LaNasa's personal highlight was her summer wedding to actor Grant Show ("Melrose Place"). Up next, LaNasa will be seen in the feature film "The Frozen Ground" with John Cusack and Nicholas Cage, which is due in 2013, and in a recurring role on the hit A&E television series "Longmire."
