Richard Coyle stars as Tom Lowe in NBC's "Crossbones."

Coyle is an exciting and versatile actor whose talent and strong screen presence has marked him as one of the most promising actors coming out of Great Britain today.

Coyle's film credits include Madonna's "W.E.," Mike Newell's "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time," starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Ridley Scott's "A Good Year" opposite Russell Crowe, "The Libertine" opposite Johnny Depp, Mike Leigh's Oscar-nominated "Topsy Turvy" and Franco Zeffirelli's production of "Jane Eyre." He will next be seen on the big screen in "Food Guide to Love."

In Great Britain, Coyle has done some amazingly diverse series regular work. He starred on the very popular and critically acclaimed comedy "Coupling," which NBC remade for American television. He starred as the series lead on "Whistleblowers" and has appeared on "Going Postal," "The History of Mr. Polly" and "The Best Man." His other television credits include "Gunpowder, Treason and Plot" and Mike Barker's "Lorna Doone."

Onstage, Coyle has carved out a successful theater career, with his appearance in "The York Realist" (Royal Court Theatre) winning him a Best Supporting Actor award by the public at the Theatregoers' Choice Awards. He starred opposite Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow in the U.K. premiere of "Proof" (Donmar Warehouse),  and appeared in "After Miss Julie" (Donmar Warehouse), "Don Carlos" directed by Michael Grandage (West End),  "Look Back in Anger" directed by Peter Gill (Theatre Royal, Bath) and "The Lover and the Collection" directed by Jamie Lloyd (the Comedy Theatre).
