Monica Raymund stars as Gabriela Dawson in the NBC drama, "Chicago Fire." Dawson's versatile expertise as a paramedic and firefighter continue to exhibit how valuable she is to the success of Firehouse 51. Dawson also co-operates one of Chicago's favorite local pubs, Molly's.
As graduate of the Juilliard School, Raymund was the recipient of the John Houseman Award for her commitment and dedication. Immediately following her graduation, she went on to star opposite Tim Roth for three seasons in "Lie to Me."
During this time, she also became a founding member of The Mechanicals Theater Group, has been on faculty and co-head of the Communications Department at the Heifetz Institute, and served as faculty for the Broadway Theatre Project. Raymund currently serves on the board and faculty of The Performing Arts Project. She executive produced the independent feature "Submarine Kid," and was a producer on the Broadway production of "The Velocity of Autumn." She is the founder and president of SISU Theatrical Productions and is also on the board of MOGUL, an online news aggregator and publishing platform for women. Raymund recently directed a short film entitled "Tanya" for the Hidden Tears Project, a media company developing content to bring awareness to sex trafficking.
Other credits include a lead role in director Stephen Elliott's feature, "Happy Baby"; a supporting role in the feature "Arbitrage," opposite Richard Gere; a starring role in the Sundance Lab musical production of "Like Water for Chocolate"; and a recurring role on the critically acclaimed drama, "The Good Wife." She also guest-starred on the 200th episode of "Law & Order: SVU," opposite Robin Williams. Monica recently starred in "Thaddeus and Slocum" at Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre.
Raymund won the Imagen Award for Leading Actress in a Drama for her role as Gabriela Dawson on "Chicago Fire" in 2013 and also has three nominations. Raymund also received a nomination for a Teen Choice Award in the category of Choice Action TV Actress.
Raymund is currently working on her debut music EP with producers in Boston and Chicago.
