Fortune Feimster stars as Ruby, a close childhood friend to Vince (Anders Holm) and Matthew (Andy Favreau) and a popular trainer at the gym, in NBC’s comedy series “Champions.”What Ruby lacks in fitness, she makes up for in swagger. As an employee, Ruby can sometimes take advantage of her friendship with Vince, frequently working 20 hours while getting paid for 40. But at the end of the day, she always has his back.Feimster is a Southern comic who hails from North Carolina and made her television debut as a semifinalist on “Last Comic Standing.” Since then, she was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch.” Feimster became known for her contributions as a regular panelist and writer on “Chelsea Lately,” but went on to co-create and sell a number of projects to ABC, including a semi-autobiographical story about her family life titled “Family Fortune,” with Tina Fey producing.Feimster also co-starred as Colette Kimball-Kinney on Hulu’s “The Mindy Project,” recurred as Dougie on CBS’ “Life in Pieces” and guest-starred on several shows, including “Dear White People,” “Nobodies,” “Drunk History” and “Workaholics.” She also had a memorable appearance as Lonny, an over-talkative Uber driver, in “Office Christmas Party.”Feimster is set to co-star in the police action comedy “Bad Cop, Bad Cop,” based on a script she co-wrote.
