Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice and best known to audiences worldwide as part of the iconic '90s pop group Spice Girls, makes her sixth run as judge of "America's Got Talent," now in its 13th season. Mel B is a chart-topping singer, songwriter, actor, author, host, television personality, producer and groundbreaking entrepreneur.
Mel B has become a global and television phenomenon. In 2014, she made her return to the "X Factor" brand and within one year had six shows on seven continents. Mel B has also judged "The X Factor" in Australia, "Dancing with the Stars" in Australia and "Miss Universe 2013," alongside Jerry Springer, to name but a few.
In 2008 she placed second on Season 5 of the ABC hit series "Dancing with the Stars" with her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and then immediately embarked on reuniting with the Spice Girls on their second global tour.
Mel B has appeared in many movies, documentaries and series, including "It's a Scary World," "Voodoo Princess," "Hollywood Game Night," "RuPaul's Drag Race," "Celebrity Name Game," "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" She also risked her life on "Running Wild with Bear Grylls." Mel B often shares her winnings with charity. She frequently co-hosts national television talk shows, including "TODAY," "Good Day L.A.," "Loose Women," "The Real" and "Live with Kelly and Ryan."
On the stage, Mel B performed in a presentation of "The Vagina Monologues" at London's renowned Ambassadors Theatre. On Broadway she headlined as Mimi in "Rent" and, most recently, joined the Broadway production of "Chicago," playing lead character Roxie Hart. She also voiced the character of Fury in the Disney animated feature "Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast."
Mel B's honest, direct and to-the-point personality drove the Spice Girl's global success. The group's enduring and growing popularity brought about one of the most successful concert tours of 2007-2008, grossing more than $70 million. They made history with a Guinness Book of World Records status for most No. 1 entries in the U.K. charts and most consecutive No. 1's for a new act. The group's success was recognized and immortalized by Madame Tussauds in 1999. The Spice Girls reunited in 2012 in London for a performance at the epic Summer Olympics closing ceremony.
Twenty-two years after they began, the Spice Girls have reunited. All five Girls have recently signed with Simon Fuller, their original manager, to embark on many different, exciting and groundbreaking endeavors starting in 2018.
Mel B currently resides in Los Angeles with her three girls.
