Katy Perry Said She Hoped To Become 'A Household Name' In 2008 Interview

CLIP05/19/23

Katy Perry always brings the energy, and it's been that way since her first time appearing on Access Hollywood 15 years ago! In 2008, Access met up with the then-rising pop star in New York City's Steve Madden store. She spoke about her debut song "I Kissed A Girl" and shared her hopes for her career a decade from then. "I have a lot of respect for Madonna and hope to be kind of that– can I say household name?" she said at the time. "In ten years, I'd like to do so many different things. You know, be a good girl, be a bad girl, be rock 'n' roll, do an acoustic record."
