"A Star Is Born" could have had a completely different leading man. Bradley Cooper told Variety that he saw "an actual musician" during the casting process, whom he "wanted" to headline his directorial debut. While Bradley didn't name any rocker specifically, a source told the trade mag that he and Jack White met about the film – even before Lady Gaga came on board!
