Actor Bio

Annie Mumolo stars as Laurie, Andy's (Al Madrigal) dominating wife who is not afraid to speak her strong opinions to him or his best friend Will (David Walton), in NBC's comedy "About a Boy."

Mumolo is an Oscar-nominated writer, actress and alumnus of the L.A-based improv/sketch comedy troupe The Groundlings, whose celebrated roster of graduates includes Will Ferrell, Lisa Kudrow, Maya Rudolph, Phil Hartman, and her writing partner Kristen Wiig.

Mumolo co-wrote the 2011 blockbuster comedy "Bridesmaids," for which she received her first Oscar nomination. Most recently, she wrote a feature for Fox based on the life of HSN queen Joy Mangano, which will be directed by David O. Russell with Jennifer Lawrence starring. She also has a semi-autobiographical sitcom in the works for ABC.

On the acting front, her credits include a scene-stealing supporting role in Judd Apatow's "This Is 40," alongside Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, as well as a breakout role in the Sundance film "Afternoon Delight." Other television credits include "Modern Family," "Rake" and "The Goldbergs."

Mumolo resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
