Steven Bloom

Boris Kodjoe stars as Steven Bloom, husband of Samantha Bloom (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and one of the best operatives the CIA has known, in NBC's spy drama "Undercovers."

Born in Vienna, Austria and raised in Germany, Kodjoe was previously named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by People magazine and has amassed an impressive list of film and television credits.

Kodjoe is perhaps best known as one of the regulars from the Showtime drama "Soul Food," a show that introduced him to co-star and future wife Nicole Ari Parker and which garnered him three NAACP Award nominations. He would later star with Parker in the sitcom "Second Time Around," which he also produced.

Among his feature film credits are Spike Lee's "Love and Basketball," "Brown Sugar" in which he appeared alongside Taye Diggs and Queen Latifah, "The Gospel," "Tyler Perry's "Madea's Family Reunion," "All About Us" and "Starship Troopers 3: Marauder." Most recently, he appeared opposite Bruce Willis in the action thriller "Surrogates," and will appear in the upcoming Paul Anderson-directed thriller "Resident Evil: Afterlife," due out in September.

In 2009, he made his Broadway debut in the Tennessee Williams classic "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," which included a talented cast that featured James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose and Giancarlo Esposito.

Prior to launching his acting career, he modeled at the Ford Modeling agency, where he was involved in such campaigns as Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Yves Saint Laurent and The Gap. Given his fashion background, he recently started up the clothing company ALFA with his brother Patrick.

Kodjoe's main personal interest is to raise funds for Sophie's Voice Foundation, which he and his wife started in honor of their daughter, Sophie, who was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth.

He and Nicole have two children, and they reside in Los Angeles.

When he's not in Los Angeles balancing the books and drumming up business for Bloom Catering, Steven Bloom can probably be found in an exotic locale alongside wife Samantha, taking down terrorists and combatting imminent threats to national security. His charm and calm under pressure make him the perfect undercover agent. Throw in his martial arts training, cryptography skills, and security tech expertise, and you see why he's one of the CIA's top spies, and the love of Samantha's life.
