Battle Wrap Up 4

We've made it! The final Battles. Our last 8 went to war and gave us an unbelievable show. Let's get to it.

JEFF AND CASEY
This was an interesting battle: Jeff turned all 4 chairs in the Blind Auditions, while Casey only turned one. On the other hand, since the Battles incorporate performance as well as vocal talent, Casey, with all her style and attitude, could clean up easily. But when you break it down, I truly believe that Jeff, out of ALL of the artists on this show, embodies what The Voice is all about, and that's what Adam couldn't let go of.

XENIA AND SARA
Blake managed to pair the two quietest artists in this competition, but the result was magical. It was a shaky, nerve-racked performance, but I found something truly honest in it. Plus, I was so touched seeing Xenia cry during her coaching...I feel like we're watching her grow up in front of our eyes. And you can't deny how unique she is in this competition, which is probably why Blake kept her.

This was another battle that I saw falling either way. That being said, I was a bit surprised with Christina's choice. Lily killed it, but I actually thought Cherie was more solid. I think this was another battle that went the way of performance, since Lily had this crazy attitude up there. Cherie still comes out a winner though, after FINALLY getting to meet Reba!! How amazing is THAT story?!

It's the battle of the loooooooooooovebirds! No one in production knew there was this crush going on, and we were BLOWN AWAY by that kiss at the end. I honestly don't remember much of the performance because of that. When I sat down to chat with them afterwards, I felt like a gossip columnist: "So tell me about that kiss????" "Was it planned??" "Are you two boyfriend/girlfriend??" "Oh...you sang something up there too?" They're both awesome people, and I'm very excited for Curtis, but just like Cherie in the battle before, Emily obviously isn't going home empty-handed.

My favorite battle of the week? That's got to go to Jeff and Casey with "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me". Fantastic song and a fantastic duet. I'm pretty sure my friends will be sick of me singing it by Friday.
