Hello Voice enthusiasts, music lovers, Blake-Adam-Cee Lo-Christina-Carson fans, those who live on the Internet, those who came here because I tweeted this link, and those who ended up here because they accidentally clicked on an ad while reading a totally unrelated article.
I am Alison Haislip, and if you watched my intro video, you know I am your guide to all things digital at The Voice... or as I like to call myself, the OFFICIAL Social Media Guru for all things Voice. Some of you may know me from my work on G4 where I swam with sharks, shot guns, drifted cars, and just generally got geeky. Others of you may ask, "What is G4? Isn't that a plane?" (The answer to your question is YES, IT IS A PLANE BUT IT IS ALSO A SUPER SWEET CABLE NETWORK THAT COVERS ALL THE STUFF YOU CARE ABOUT SO FIND IT IN YOUR LOCAL LISTINGS AND WATCH!!!) Regardless of whether you know me or not, we are going to become besties because if you want to know ANYTHING that goes on behind the scenes at The Voice, you are going to have to come through me. But fret not... I am a very loving god and will grant you all your inside scoop wishes... that are approved by NBC.
You may want to know WHY you should entrust me to be your shepherd. The simple answer is: I love music. It's in my blood. I come from a long line of musicians (my parents even met in marching band because they were super cool), and music is a very big part of who I am. Add on top of that the fact that I have more of a life online than I do in the real world from all the tweeting, blogging, and posting of random YouTube videos I do, this particular vocation is a perfect blend for me. In fact, it's so perfect, I'd probably do it for free! (Please ignore that last sentence NBC. Your paychecks are very appreciated by my desolate refrigerator and my father who does my taxes.
So if you haven't figured it out by now, my young padawans, I am here for you. I am your conduit inside this competition so you don't have to just watch ANOTHER reality show and wonder who these people really are or how this show is really shot. That is one of the many things setting The Voice apart from everything else. You are about to get so much more than just a TV show... you're about to get an entire experience. And it's all starting here, with me.
If you don't already, please follow me on Twitter at @alisonhaislip. If you don't have a Twitter account, please join the rest of us in 2011 and sign up. It's super easy, fun, and it's a much healthier addiction than all that coffee you're drinking. Once you follow me, you'll be getting the freshest updates I have to offer. I will be live-tweeting during the shows about what's happening backstage with all the artists! I'll be tweeting the insanely random things that come out of Adam's mouth! I'll even tweet embarrassing photos if the producers don't confiscate my phone. AND I will be listening to you! Seriously!! I make it a point to read every single tweet that comes my way, no matter how many marriage proposals, requests for pictures of my feet, or awful grammar and punctuation I have to get through. But be warned, I have been given the go-ahead to respond to whoever I want so think twice before giving me potential blackmail to retweet to the world.
Moral of the story, my eyes are your eyes. So let me know what you want to see and I'll do my best to get it for you... even if it means dodging Christina's security guard. That dude is fast.
Love4Life...
Alison
