V-Correspondent - Tim Mahoney

Tim Mahoney's blog

Singer-songwriter Tim Mahoney calls himself the "King of Almost." He's come close to breaking through several times in his 15 years as a musician. But the 38-year-old from Minneapolis, Minnesota may have to retire his nickname: he's now teamed with a coach who can take him to the next level - Adam Levine.

The Real Battle Is Not Over Yet

Well it's always hard to talk about a battle round when in fact you didn't make it through so I will try to be as positive as I can talk about it.  Honestly I was shocked.  Not shocked because I thought I was an artist who was so much better than the person I battled, but because I gave the show and viewers something that they would want and need.

Meeting our coaches and getting our songs I actually felt blessed because I love the song Leather and Lace and because I knew the whole song from the get go.  I am not ever one that's going to talk down or bad about someone, but lets' be honest this is the battle round and we had to think in our heads what we had against them.  I thought Casey was a strong talent and that she was young and maybe that was something that they were looking for.  Although when the comments came down to the wire when Blake and Christina who liked Casey and a surprisingly critical Cee Lo "if I was going to try market someone as an A & R guy, he would be the one that I would sign to a record label. "  What Cee Lo said and even Adam saying that he really thought I nailed it, it's hard to be at this point.
I loved playing with all the coaches turned facing me.  That is what I am more used to.  Being showcased and people really watching me during my shows.
I was very happy to be a part of this, but am still sad that the battle went so fast and that part is done.  I am still confident though that all this will help and the real battle is not over.
