V-Correspondent - Rebecca Loebe

Rebecca Loebe's blog

This folk-singing Berklee College of Music graduate is no stranger to paying dues. For the past four years, she's traveled through 35 states playing shows in every conceivable venue. She jams on her dad's old guitar and funded her last album with donations from fans. This Atlanta, Georgia indie singer is searching for stability and won't stop until she finds it.

My TV Husband

It's been fun meeting the other contestants, when we arrived we really didn't know anything about one another, except that a) we're all singers, and b) we're all packed for exactly three days to six weeks. It is certainly a really diverse group of people, in terms of musical style, experience levels, etc. Everyone's nervous, but also excited and it seems that people are genuinely interested in getting to know one another. Nakia and I have been hanging out a lot.

It's funny to reflect on actually how well we all have gotten know each other. I remember a couple weeks ago, a guy with arm tattoos came up to Nakia and I and asked if we're married. Nakia and I looked at each other and burst out laughing -- he said that he didn't think our boyfriends would appreciate it if we got hitched. The guy then proceeded to introduce himself, as Josh, and he told us that he and his wife Nicole are here as a duo. They were trying to figure out if there are other duos auditioning, and since they had seen us eating together a few times they thought maybe we're married, and/or a duo...I stopped giggling and said no, we're not married but that maybe Nakia could be my TV husband. I've been calling him that ever since, it totally stuck with us!
