Blind Auditions. Well, of course I got the 7 am call. That's probably a good thing though because I'm not sure if I would have been able to sleep much later: way too much excite. It was so great to have my parents here with me although I wish I could have my sister here as well. The whole day was really a big blur for me between the constant interviews in the morning and then the audition itself later that afternoon. Had a great catered lunch before singing and tried not to eat too much. Didn't want to be burping on national television. Hugged my family for the millionth time that week and was taken in a golf cart from the holding area to the backstage area. Strangely I didn't really feel any nerves just tons of adrenaline and excitement.
As for the audition itself: I remember bits and pieces. I remember struggling to focus and keep singing after watching Adam and Cee Lo and then Blake press their buttons and turn around. I remember the incredible sound of the audience. I remember Christina telling me to take my hat off and then asking me to continue with my pants. God I remember that. My mama denied this ever happening. My Dad gave me a high-five. By the way, Blake Shelton is HUGE. I know I'm not a very tall guy but I felt extra short hugging that dude. On that note, I think it's still kind of hard for me to believe that I was actually face to face with Adam, Cee Lo, Christina, and Blake. I'm not one to get star-struck but that was insane.
