V-Correspondent - Jeff Jenkins

Jeff Jenkins's blog

Jeff hails from Jones Creek, Texas – a town so small it doesn't even boast a post office. He supports himself showing cows while pursuing a music degree from Belmont University. A singer since age seven, he dedicates his music to his mother – whom he also counted as his best friend – who recently passed away from cancer.

Post Battle Reactions

The day we met with our coaches for the first time, I was really excited to see who I would be battling. As you can see from our team, it is rather diverse, so I had no clue who I would be up against. As we all did, I spent the suspenseful time trying to figure out what I knew I couldn't. So I came up with who I thought I would be battling, Casey Weston, just because we have similar genre preferences. Well, I got the first name right, but was totally off on the last. I wasn't battling Casey the country singer, I was battling Casey, the rockstar!

q1.Jeff_Jenkins.JPGAfter working with Adam, and getting our song, I realized why he put us together. Casey is not only a rocker chick, but really can song anything thrown her way. As you can probably tell from the episode, Casey and I became great friends through all this. She is not only an awesome artist, but a great person too. I was pretty dang nervous when Adam was making his decision because, let's be honest, Casey nailed it! But, in the end I was honored to have coach Adam pick me to win our battle and move on to the top 16! I really feel blessed to have this opportunity and such a great coach. I look forward to seeing y'all in the live shows! Thanks, y'all!
