Hey, y'all, my name is Jeff Jenkins, and I am from the big city of Jones Creek, Texas. Okay, I hope you got the sarcasm seeing as how Jones Creek is technically called a "village" because we don't even have a post office! It is one of those places where if you blink you might miss it, but it is the place I've called home forever. I got started in singing country music publicly at the ripe old age of 7! It was what my mom and I did together all growing up. I showed cows and rode horses with my dad, and sang with my mom. With my mom recently passing away, I had fallen off the wagon of performing. Though I had been singing forever, it just didn't seem right without my mom out there watching me. But, when I saw the audition for The Voice, I just knew that it was a sign and I auditioned. I knew that if given the opportunity, this show could help me give a "voice" to people like my mom who lost the battle of cancer, and for those who are battling cancer.
So, that is what got me here. And here I am.
I am going to be honest; the other artists intimidate the heck out of me! The talent that fills this show is insane. The backgrounds with performing and recording that the other artists have are crazy! I feel like the newbie, but its okay, because everyone has to learn sometime. Another awesome thing about the artists is that they are all truly nice, down to earth people who love what they do. I can say, truthfully, that I have already formed great new friendships that will last a lifetime.
