It's the day of the blind auditions and I'm getting really sweaty. I think I need diapers under my arms. Seriously, I can't believe i'm going to be on a stage in front of my idol, Christina Aguilera and one of my favorite artists and producers, Ceelo Green. I have to pinch myself just incase this is dream. I hope I don't forget the lyrics to my songs. That's the first thing that happens when i'm nervous. I'm so scared. It's crunch time right now.  Like training for the Olympics.  Which lipstick should I wear? I have a 7am call time and my eyes are barely open. I'm always late.

Unfortunately, I have to hide a lot of my tattoos due to licensing issues, my entire sleeve and back piece. Good thing we don't perform in bikini's. From Jessica Rabbit to the cardigan queen. POOOOOOOOP! It makes me feel like I have to hide behind ill fitting clothing and a compensated image. Like a butterfly forced to hide in her cucoon.  Is it wrong to want it all? I  eventually want to have my own clothing line, shoe brand, perfume, and jewelry line. I'm super jealous of what Casey Desmond was wearing, she's got super dope style and she gets to rock the shoulder pads and sequins.

Hello, i'm Emily Valentine, formerly Emily Wynne-Hughes.  A whole lot of women.  I've been singing since day 1 out the cave.  I grew up watching my mom shine on stage. Graduated high school and immediately started playing in a punk band called Go Betty Go. We were lucky enough to tour both nationally and all throughout Europe. In 2008, I auditioned for American Idol and made it till about the end of Hollywood week.  I wasn't planning on auditioning for The Voice, but as soon as I found out Cee Lo Green signed up to be a coach, I knew that it was meant to be.  I've always wanted to open for Gnarls Barkley. I'm hoping I will end up on his team, he's my hero!

There are a lot of really awesome people here, personalities to match their many talents.  I can already tell who i'll be friends with.  The first person I met was Curtis Grimes, the country boy. He's nice and maybe we'll be friends, or at least play words with friends. Kinda lonely here.  Everyone is so intimidating. Today I also met Frenchi and Tyler, and hopefully we'll bond, they have cute style and i've heard they're both super talented. Maybe i'll even be able to build some lifelong friendships with some of these people.

My mom has been so supportive throughout this entire process. I'm so lucky to have a parent that believes in me. Today, she bought me an, "Adorable Humidifier", that's what it says on the box. It's a frog that steams. Sooo good for your voice. I'm also prepared for the journey, armed with Throat Coat Tea and and endless supply of honey.  I've worked on my song about a billion times and hopefully my voice alone will get me through. Keeping my manicured fingers and toes crossed.
