MONDAY AND TUESDAY 8/7c

V-Correspondent - Curtis Grimes

Curtis Grimes's blog

Country boy Curtis Grimes walked away from a baseball scholarship to spend time with his girlfriend. After they broke up, he taught himself to play the guitar to get over the hurt, and he hasn't looked back since. An established musician from Gilmer, Texas, he recently opened for Kenny Chesney and got to sing a duet with the country music legend.

Emotion/Surprise/Excitement to Make the Top 16

Day 14:
Went to rehearse with band after we were assigned our Lady Antebellum duet at midnightish the night before, needless to say they were not happy because it was awful, had to go shoot more OTF interviews

Day 16:
Took a much needed trip to the bank and Wal-greens, rehearsed vocals with Romeo and also learned the new choreography for our song, I don't dance good so this was interesting

Day 18:
Got to check out the set and shoot the pre-battle scenes, I'm really nervous about tomorrows performance because this song is WAY out of my range vocally even though it is a country song, did not sleep very well at all

Day 19:
Today was nerve racking, spent all day preparing for battle round, drank a lot of warm tea, so full of emotion/surprise/excitement to make the top 16... I was speechless

Day 20:
Got to relax a little bit today, slept in late and enjoyed the time left with the great artists that didn't make it through, it's kind of sad to part ways with some great people and new "really good" friends

Day 21:
Went to the Bomb shelter and recorded "Need You Now" with Emily, party time started when we got back to hotel, got to go bowling that night in our private room, it was bad ass(very special thanks Val), great way to end this leg of the show

Day 22:
Said goodbye to everyone and flew back to ATX, anxious and looking forward to coming back for the live shows!
