This fashion-forward singer is a fixture of the Boston music scene. She started playing music professionally at age 14 and works as a commercial composer in addition to performing. She counts Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, and Lady Gaga among her influences - and is looking to become an icon in her own right someday.

Every time I think back to the Blind Auditions, my heart beats a little
faster. What an amazing, yet exhausting day. After very little sleep the
previous night, I needed to be hair and make up ready by seven a.m. My
mom and guitar player were there to support me, so I wasn't too stressed
out. However, watching other contestants walk out of the initial
meeting room started making me impatient. I wanted so bad to get out
there and sing. My performance was twelves hours later, so I started to
mellow out by the time I got called. Instead of riding a wave of
adrenaline onto the stage like a crazy person, I floated in on a zen
cloud. I was very calm... until I struck the stage with LIGHTNING.

Hehehe OK, I tend to exaggerate a little. I was fortunate enough to sing Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which not only has a powerful message, but is also written by a strong, intelligent woman. I stand behind the lyrics, and it's a really catchy tune. Anyway, back to the performance. The crowd was a wild lot. They were standing up, screaming, and saying "Good Job, Casey". It made me feel really special. Within a few lines, Adam Levine turned around. I was sad that no other coaches did. It's fine though, because they all had positive feedback for me. They compared me to Madonna, and said they wished they could've seen what I looked like. Afterwards, I was led into a holding area for my family and friends. My mom was crying a little, and Taylor looked really excited. Then I did a short interview with Alison. She is so pretty, and witty! I can't for the life of me remember what I said to her because I was just so full of excitement.

Now that we are back at the hotel, I making amazing new friends. Everyone here has so much talent, it's inspiring. Everywhere you turn there's a circle of folks playing music and singing together. We're all bonding which can be a beautiful thing, or a stressful thing. In the end this is a competition, and we're all supposedly up against each other. However, I just don't see that fact penetrating the love bubble that's surrounds this group of people. I think we're going to keep it all about love, support, and music here at HOTEL THE VOICE. Peace, hippies!

Hello! This is my blog! My blog for blogging about things. Things that are extremely interesting and funny. I promise! Ok, so here goes. It starts here, and it's never ending. I hope you're ready.

My name is Casey Desmond. I love to sing, and write pop songs. I also love to sew stage outfits. Back home, I have a studio called OHDEERGOD. It's filled to the brim with fun toys, and instruments. Synthesizers decorate my walls and floors, along with a collection of bizarre music toys from the eighties, and cheesy organs from the sixties. Naturally I never want to leave, and my little sister calls me a hermit. This is so true. However, I think I am also one of the most social people I know, and I'm always making new friends. I love people, all types. <3<3<3<3.

I feel like I'm always on the go. I've been living out of my suitcases out of habit even when I'm home. Home... I miss you! My house is a warehouse. My living room is a venue called The Magic Room, which is owned by my father, and family run. We throw giant parties all in the name of music and art. Amazing artists come from all over the country, and I've met some exceptional talent. My family includes two wacky, musical genius parents named "Des" & Kathy, a hot hipster photographer little sister named Mary Lee, and a wild artist little brother Willy. My parents have always been so supportive of my musical path. My mom and I work side by side in the business. My dad and I have recorded together and made music videos. In the last two years of my life, I've branched out into my own little family. I'm engaged to a handsome, caring, supportive guy named Robbie, and we have three beautiful dog children. :D Robbie is the best fiance/friend I could hope to have. He supports/feeds my habit of hoarding synthesizers, and will move to LA for me to pursue my dreams as a performer. He also cooks for me almost every night, and that's a giant yummy cherry on top of the sweetie pie he truly is!

Across the hall from me, is Taylor Barefoot's studio. He is one of my closest and dearest friends, and is my band mate. We have been playing and recording together for seven years. He also has an array of rare, and amazing gear. Just like my synths, his walls are adorned with guitars. They're all beautiful, top of the line, custom guitars. THEN, everywhere else in his studio, there are hundreds of hand made, boutique pedals. I talk a lot about Taylor, because when we are together, we are mad scientists. Everything is an experiment, and us; the tweakers. Music production is a passion, but also a huge part of my life/job. Can you tell that I am a huge nerd yet? I produced my new album along side with my partner in musical crime, Taylor. We play all the instruments and produce the tracks. I've also had the opportunity to work with award winning producer Anthony Resta, who has produced, co-produced, recorded, mixed, and written with me over the years.
