Ethan Hawke

Ethan Hawke is an Oscar-nominated actor and writer. After making his onscreen debut in 1985's Explorers, he found success in 1989 as a member of the ensemble drama Dead Poets Society. Two years later, Hawke scored his first leading role in the adaptation of the novel White Fang. He drew more praise with 1994's Reality Bites and 1995's Before Sunrise, going on to star in the film's two sequels, 2004's Before Sunset and 2013's Before Midnight. Hawke also earned Oscar nominations for his work on both as a writer. In 2001, the actor starred opposite Denzel Washington in Training Day, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2014, Hawke starred in Boyhood, for which he scored his second Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination, and directed the documentary Seymour: An Introduction.
