Actor Clive Owen got his start in his native U.K. on the 1990 series Chancer. More small screen roles followed until 1998 when he gained acclaim and exposure across the pond with the film Croupier. Owen's career really took off in 2004 when he starred opposite Julia Roberts, Jude Law and Natalie Portman in Closer, earning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his performance. In 2006, the actor starred in Inside Man and Children of Men and, a year later, in Elizabeth: The Golden Age. He earned an Emmy nomination in 2012 for his title role in the HBO TV movie Hemingway & Gellhorn.
