Wes Ramsey stars as Max, the handsome bartender with a big heart, in NBC's provocative drama "The Playboy Club."
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Ramsey discovered his passion for the theatre at the age of 12 during a summer class at Walden Theatre in his hometown. He was so taken by the art, he enrolled full time in the fall where he remained for the next seven years, taking classes and performing in shows.
In 1996, Ramsey auditioned and was accepted into the drama division of the Juilliard School in New York City, where he spent the next four years continuing to study and pursue his love of acting. He graduated in 2000 with a bachelor of fine arts degree. After completing his training at Juilliard, he went on to play Sam Spencer on "The Guiding Light," a role he held for two years.
He starred in the feature film "Latter Days," as well as numerous other independent features. His television credits include appearances on NBC's "Days of Our Lives," "Luis," "Heroes," "CSI: NY," "House" and "The Event." He has also had recurring roles on "Charmed" and "CSI: Miami."
Ramsey is single and lives in Los Angeles.
Max, the bartender at the Playboy Club, is a small town kid in the big city. Max grew up on a farm in Iowa, and he was desperate to get out of town from as far back as he can remember. An aspiring photographer, he's always had an eye for beauty, a sixth sense that has gotten him in trouble more than once. After a year in Chicago, Max now fancies himself a suave urbanite, but he still has a lot to learn, particularly about love. If he's not careful, he may find himself falling for the wrong person.
