Actor, comedian, singer, and producer Jason Alexander is probably best known for his role as George Costanza on the beloved sitcom "Seinfeld." He found an early calling as a performer, going so far as to adopt the stage name "Alexander" (his real surname is Greenspan) while still attending high school in Livingston, New Jersey. He attended Boston University, pursuing summer roles in theatre. After leaving college, Alexander gained notice in small parts on television and film but continued to pursue his love of stage acting and singing. He was cast in "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" and his performance garnered a Tony award in 1989; "Seinfeld" skyrocketed to success shortly thereafter. An avowed fan of poker, "Star Trek," and magic, Alexander continues to support his theatre roots, serving as artistic director of "Reprise! Broadway's Best in Los Angeles," where he has directed several musicals.
