The Situation
The Stuffed Dog DilemmaKevin and Danielle Ridolfi's love story begins 14 years ago. "It was love at first sight," says Kevin. "Every day's an adventure with Kevin. That's what I love about him," reveals Danielle. But there's been a small, furry bone of contention between them for most of those 14 years: Kevin's beloved Boston Terrier, Fonzie.
"The day Fonzie died was pretty much one of the best days of my life," declares Danielle. It seems she never quite got along with her husband's canine best friend; the dog was also something of menace: chewing up furniture and peeing on friends, according to Just The Facts correspondent, NBC's Natalie Morales.
DID THE REF MAKE THE RIGHT CALL?
The dispute began in earnest when Kevin announced his plan to have Fonzie stuffed by a taxidermist--in preparation for being put on loving display in a shrine in the middle of their house. Danielle was appalled. "This is my dream come true," says Kevin, "but it's your nightmare." They appeal to the Marriage Ref.
Host and Marriage Ref Tom Papa turns to his panel of Alec Baldwin, Kelly Ripa, and Jerry Seinfeld for advice. They're all grossed out, siding universally with the wife. Tom makes the call: Kevin's "crossed the line to Wes Craven-ville," i.e., Danielle wins. Kevin can keep the stuffed dog, but Fonzie's to be relegated to the attic, taking his place beside the other mementoes of Kevin's life.
