The Situation
Derby DilemmaPatsy loves Ron, her husband of 28 years. "He's a hard worker and so much fun to be with," she gushes. But their otherwise peaceful life in Pico Rivera, California is being disrupted by Patsy's newfound obsession: roller derby. She competes on a local team, leaving the house for up to six hours at a time to practice. She also spends most of her Saturdays at games, which her husband refuses to attend. Ron's left to fend for himself, spending three nights a week alone, eating a meager dinner of scrambled eggs.
"It's getting ridiculous," he sighs. "Roller derby is ruining my life. I'll get angry and go out to dinner by myself. People look at you like you're a loser or something."
The panel contemplates what to do. Adam is quick to chime in with his assessment of the problem. "She's hot and he's not. She's with it. He should get with the times, maybe join the team as an equipment manager or coach."
DID THE REF MAKE THE RIGHT CALL?
Noting how much she's out of the house, Donald is a bit skeptical. "Are you sure she's not having an affair?"
Gloria sides with Adam. "It's dangerous, but the woman is doing something she loves to do. He should get a hobby of his own. Maybe take a cooking class."
Tom's heard enough. He addresses the couple with his verdict. "Ron, I understand your concern. But an aging roller derby hobby will stop itself. There are 12 other women out there who will put a stop to this. Patsy: skate till you break. You win."
