Leila Buchanan is the daughter of Michael and Valerie Buchanan, and sister of Samantha Buchanan. Leila grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with dreams of becoming a scientist.
While studying biochemistry at M.I.T., she met Sean Walker, and the two hit it off immediately. After dating for several years, Leila made the big leap and moved in with Sean.
Leila was on a once-in-a-lifetime cruise in the Caribbean with the love of her life when she was kidnapped and used as leverage in a Presidential assassination attempt.
Leila recently learned that her father, Michael, is a Sleeper living among the human population, which makes her... a hybrid.
Sarah Roemer stars as Leila Buchanan, Sean Walker's (Jason Ritter) would-be fiancée who suddenly disappears during a Caribbean cruise and becomes involved in a complex government conspiracy, in NBC's new high-octane conspiracy thriller, The Event.
Roemer recently wrapped the Alcina Pictures film titled "The Love Child," starring opposite Donald Sutherland and Rebecca Romijn. The film portrays an ex-con who takes on one last heist after being coerced out of a plan to go straight by a loan shark. She can soon be seen in the features "Falling Up," "The Con Artist," the independent thriller "Locked In," and the independent drama "Waking Madison."
Roemer is known for her role in the hit film "Disturbia," in which she starred opposite Shia LaBeouf. Other film credits include "Fired Up"; the family drama "Hachiko" opposite Richard Gere and Joan Allen; the short film "Cutlass," opposite Virginia Madsen, Dakota Fanning and Kurt Russell; "Asylum"; and "The Grudge 2."
A native of San Diego, Roemer was always an avid athlete, and began a career in modeling at the age of 15. Currently, she resides in Los Angeles and enjoys surfing and horseback riding in her spare time.
