The early stages of development on a brand new show like The Cape provide a veritable creative playground for all involved. The opportunity to create and populate an entirely new world is both exciting and downright fun. One critical step in that process is visually translating the creator's conception of the characters into what is known as "Concept Art." An artist provides his or her rendition of various characters, shaping the drawings to match the writer's vision as closely as possible. This Concept Art then allows for people such as costume and set designers to hair and makeup artists, among others, to get on the same page with regard to the look and feel of the characters. Check out this cool gallery of some of the early explorations of characters like The Cape, Orwell and others. And check back again soon, as there's more to come!
