Nagra is well known for her role as surgeon Neela Rasgotra on the long-running American medical drama "ER."
Nagra became a professional actress at the age of 17. Since that time, she has built an extensive list of credits in feature films, theater and television. Nagra made her feature film debut starring as Jess in the critically acclaimed film "Bend It Like Beckham," which garnered worldwide attention. In U.K. television, she also starred on Channel 4's two-part drama "Second Generation" and in the network's film version of "Twelfth Night" as Viola opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor. Additionally, Nagra was seen in the feature "Ella Enchanted."
Nagra was honored at the 2004 Young Hollywood Awards with the Breakthrough Actress Award for her roles in "Bend It Like Beckham" and "ER."
She currently resides in Los Angeles.
In 2006, she worked closely with the DOJ in an ongoing multinational operation relating to energy and non-proliferation. The details of this operation remain classified. In 2011, she officially left the service after nearly 14 years in order to spend more time with her family. She has rejoined government service at the request of Assistant Attorney General Fowler.
