The Biggest Loser Series on NBC: Ramon's Remarks

Week 1: The best and worst week of your life!

Well I'm back! You know they couldn't keep me away...

Last season of the greatest show ever, I found out that I had been killing myself with bad habits and overeating, making myself one of the sickest people on the ranch. I had diabetes and a laundry list of health problems, but through hard work and dedication, as taught to me by one of the best trainers on this planet, Dolvett Quince, I am proud to say I am diabetes-free and will remain that way as long as I keep living a healthy lifestyle. And you know I will...

I earned a spot in the Final Three by winning the marathon. I didn't win the title of "The Biggest Loser," but I was already a winner no matter what my final percentage was. As I sit and watch this first episode of Season 13, it takes me back to how I felt the first day on the ranch. You're excited because your life is about to change for the better if you take full advantage of the opportunity - and you're feeling scared to death because it's about to be the most excruciating process you will ever endure...

The new contestants are greeted at the BL gate by Alison, who has a challenge before they are even allowed on the ranch. Twists right off the bat! Ally tells the contestants that one of them will be going home. This has got to be a crazy feeling because you are so close and before you know it your shot on the ranch could be over. Crazy, right?

After the challenge, the Aqua Team left, but they'll have a second chance to come back on the ranch if they lose 50 pounds as a team. They better get to work and earn that spot back...

It was awesome seeing Dolvett and Bob introduce themselves to the new contestants all Mission-Impossible style. Seriously, who repels from a helicopter? That was beast! I must say that first workout did look like pandemonium. You're not supposed to kill Santa... Oh no no no...

This first episode was full of twists and turns. I loved the fact that they broke up the teams. Changing the game from the get-go is good because like Ally said, you don't always have someone to lean on. So the contestants chose teams; here we go Red vs. Black!! I might be a little biased, but I'm Red Team all the way... Hard work, dedication.

It's weigh-in time once again... For me, this first weigh-in was nerve-racking. You know you put in the work - but did you do enough to help your team? Seeing those first pounds come off gives that extra boost. For me, that was when I decided it would be the last time I was overweight, and I would work hard to become a beast in the gym. Boom!!!!

Mahalo for listening and I'll catch you next week.
Peace, Health and Aloha
