Ditch the caloric nightmare of a wrap they serve at markets (and even most health food stores) and make a smarter low-cal version yourself for under two bucks and in under five minutes!
Simply get a low-carb whole-wheat tortilla, two ounces of turkey (nitrate-free preferred), lettuce and mustard. Roll it up, wrap it in a large piece of tin foil that can easily open up on your lap or desk without making a mess - and eat on the go! If turkey isn't your thing, hummus or seasoned tofu is a great alternative. You can add your favorite veggies such as tomatoes, cucumbers, or even sprouts and viola - a "real food" voluminous snack for under 150 calories. Sure seems more filling than 8-10 tortilla chips, doesn't it?
1 sprouted or low-carb tortilla (60-80 calories)
2 ounces nitrate-free turkey (50 calories)
3/4 cup mixed greens, vegetables and a little mustard (15 calories)
Total: 125-145 calories Approximate cost: $1.47
