What were some of the advantages or disadvantages of being paired with a partner?
I think there is a little of both. There is definitely the comfort factor in knowing that when you got on the scale every week, there was somebody standing next to you and rooting for you because your weight depended on if that person fell below the yellow line. Definitely that there was somebody else that knew you and knew everything about you and could motivate you and inspire you and that helped. I never wanted to be that person who wasn't doing my part, because I knew I had to answer to Maggie. The disadvantages were, as a best friend, it's really hard to set your limits sometimes and how far do you push before you push the wrong button. When you come in here and it's just you, no longer a team, you have to start all over, again. Coming in with a person you know, it's a person who you use to go to dinners with and they would enable you. It was interesting to see the house dynamic.
How did the show bring you two closer?
This brought Maggie and I a lot closer. We experienced stuff most best friends don't experience in a lifetime. It's such an emotional rollercoaster, how can you not get closer?
What will you miss most about the campus?
I am going to miss everything. I am going to miss working with Jillian and she not only wanted to get us in shape physically, but also emotionally. But, most of all, I am going to miss the people and not waking up to my support group everyday.
What were some of the tips the trainers gave you?
I think the most important thing that Jillian taught me was that I had to believe in myself. She made sure I pushed myself every single day.
