Jillian Michaels is one of the leading health and wellness experts in the country. As a motivator and role model, Jillian has a unique connection with her audience that stems from her own personal journey toward wellness. Before she was a huge TV success, Jillian struggled with her own weight. She was determined to reach her goals - and through dedication and hard work, she did.
As a contributor for SELF magazine and best-selling author of numerous books including "Master Your Metabolism," which debuted in April 2009 at #2 on the New York Times best-seller list and has remained on the list for more than 52 weeks and counting. In spring of 2010, Michaels released the "Master Your Metabolism Cookbook" which also debuted at #2 on the New York Times best-seller list. Jillian's new book, "Unlimited," will be released in April 2011. Her DVDs, including the #1 best-seller of all fitness DVDs, "30-Day Shred," "No More Trouble Zones," "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism" and "Yoga Meltdown" are consistently top sellers. In continuing her dedication to health and wellness, Jillian has partnered with K-Swiss to develop a line of footwear and sportswear available summer 2011, and is continuing her partnership with ICON Health & Fitness on a new line of in-home fitness equipment hitting stores in fall 2010. Additionally, the success of Jillian Michaels' "Fitness Ultimatum 2009" for Nintendo Wii led to a 2010 edition, and an enhanced 2011 edition which will be released in fall 2010. In October 2010, Michaels will set sail on her first Jillian Michaels Ultimate Wellness Cruise.
Jillian is also a businesswoman - she launched Empowered Media, LLC with business partner and co-founder Giancarlo Chersich with the goal of creating total life solutions that involve all aspects of living well, including health, wellness, weight loss, and overall lifestyle. By imparting to her clients a unique and inspiring philosophy that stresses the integration of fitness, nutrition, and behavioral changes, Jillian empowers the people she works with to define and reach their personal goals, both physical and psychological. Empowered Media allows Jillian to communicate her message of health and wellness to a large audience through different outlets, including books, DVDs, gaming, exercise equipment, and her loyal online community. Jillian lives in Los Angeles. When she's not on set, she enjoys traveling and getting involved in charitable activities with notable organizations, riding motorcycles or her beloved horse, Buzz.
