UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - August 24, 2010 - NBC announces 21 contestant hopefuls eager to transform their bodies, their health and their lives in the must-see premiere of "The Biggest Loser" on Tuesday, September 21 (8-10 p.m. ET). The theme for season 10 of the popular series is "paying it forward."

With obesity now one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States, "The Biggest Loser" wanted to broaden their reach this season, pay it forward and motivate communities - not just contestants - to get healthy. So trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels and host Alison Sweeney travel to seven cities in the premiere episode, with each trainer leading community fitness challenges like a one-mile race or a 500 step-up competition. In each of the seven cities - Detroit, Los Angeles, Portland, Atlanta, Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Boston - there will also be three contestant hopefuls competing in the challenges. The two candidates who complete their fitness challenge first win a spot at the ranch. Those who don't make it will get a chance to vie for a spot on the show in a later episode.

The new season players include Burgandy (Eagle Mountain, Utah), a military wife, foster parent and mother of five, Aaron (Kent, Ohio), the son of an alcoholic who hopes to be a better role model to his own son and Montina (Houston, Texas), a background vocalist for Beyonce who wants to look as good as she sounds. Viewers will also meet Tina, a 58-year-old retired homemaker who was a swimsuit model in her younger years, and Adam (Santa Ana, California), who hopes to lose weight and honor his mother, who died at age 51 from heart failure brought on by complications of diabetes and obesity.

Other new contestants include Sophia (Germantown, Maryland), a high school counselor who lost her brother last year in a tragic car accident, Patrick (Vicksburg, Mississippi), a former college football player who continued to consume large quantities of food long after an injury forced him to stop playing, Ada (San Francisco, California), who longs to "finally be happy" after a difficult childhood with unsupportive parents, and Brendan (Boston, Massachusetts), a special education teacher who wants to practice what he preaches to his students about the importance of exercise and a healthy diet.

The new contestants hoping to make it on the ranch and compete for the $250,000 grand prize are:

JESSE ATKINS (Law clerk), 28, St. Paul, Minnesota.

MONTINA COOPER (Professional singer/songwriter), 35, Houston, Texas.

JESSICA DELFS (Professional bridal consultant), 27, Tucson, Arizona.

RICHARD DEROQUE (Pediatric physical therapist), 54, Conway, Arkansas.

ALFREDO DINTEN (Futures commodity trader), 43, Staten Island, New York.

SANDY DOLAN (Stay-at-home mom and student), 30, Ft. Worth, Texas.

BRENDAN DONOVAN (Special education teacher), 32, Boston, Massachusetts.

TINA ELLIOTT (Retired homemaker), 58, Boring, Oregon.

SOPHIA FRANKLIN (High school counselor), 28, Germantown, Maryland.

PATRICK HOUSE (Sales representative), 28, Vicksburg, Mississippi.

"Losing It with Jillian" to Debut Tuesday, June 1 (10-11 p.m. ET) Starring Jillian Michaels (NBC's "The Biggest Loser")

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 16, 2010 - NBC announced today the premiere date of an additional alternative series joining its previously announced summer 2010 schedule as "Losing It with Jillian" will debut on Tuesday, June 1 (10-11 p.m. ET) starring Jillian Michaels from NBC's hit weight loss show "The Biggest Loser."

The premiere will follow the debut of the summer's top rated series "America's Got Talent" and then move into its regular time slot, Tuesdays (8-9 p.m. ET) on June 8.

In the hour-long series, Michaels -- in her distinctive, tough love style -- will tackle the obesity epidemic of American families head on as she travels across the country to transform one family at a time.

In the series, Michaels will be moving in with a different family each week to help change their diet and exercise habits. She will focus on getting to the bottom of the issues each family member faces -- ones that affect their health and happiness -- and will arm them with the tools necessary to make life-altering changes. The families are in for a huge wake up call as Michaels -- tired of hearing all the excuses -- will show America that anyone can make a change.

"Losing It with Jillian" is produced by Reveille in association with Empowered Media. Jillian Michaels, Giancarlo Chersich, Mark Koops ("The Biggest Loser," "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins"), Howard T. Owens ("The Buried Life," "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins"), Ellen Rakieten ("The Oprah Winfrey Show," NBC's "The Marriage Ref") and Stef Wagstaffe ("Undercover Boss," "Wife Swap") are the executive producers.

Episode Also Includes A Special Hunger Awareness Segment Featuring The Band OneRepublic Helping Out At A Feeding America Event

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 11, 2009 - It's one of the most eagerly anticipated events every season - "The Biggest Loser" makeover episode -- and Tim Gunn and Tabatha Coffey (Bravo's "Tabatha's Salon Takeover") return to help transform the remaining six contestants on the popular NBC series on Tuesday, November 17 (8:30-10:00 p.m. ET).

First, Gunn works his fashion magic helping the contestants pick out stylish new outfits to flatter their slimmer selves. Then Tabatha transforms them further with complete salon makeovers, helping the final six look fabulous before they give speeches about their weight loss journeys to motivate others at a TV Guide Magazine event.

Then it's time for amazing reveals and emotional reunions, when the made-over contestants show off their incredible new looks to loved ones flown in to help them celebrate their big day and hear their emotional speeches. Later, the contestants face a high-flying challenge across a canyon divide, and the winner is rewarded with a two-week trip to "The Biggest Loser" resort at Fitness Ridge in southern Utah. Then a tense elimination follows the weigh-in, sending another contestant home. Alison Sweeney hosts the series, and trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels also star.

The makeover episode also includes a special hunger awareness segment featuring the band OneRepublic helping out at a Feeding America event in their hometown of Denver. In 2007, after seven years together as a band, OneRepublic took the world by storm with their debut release "Dreaming Out Loud." The album included the smash single "Apologize" which shattered digital sales and airplay records worldwide. Their sophomore set "Waking Up," on Mosley/Interscope Records, will be released November 17th as first single "All The Right Moves" climbs up the radio charts.

From Reveille, the Producers of "The Biggest Loser," Executive Producers Michaels and Giancarlo Chersich (Empowered Media) and Executive Producer Ellen Rakieten ("Oprah," NBC's "The Marriage Ref"), Series to Also Feature Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. October 20, 2009 -- NBC has partnered with popular health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels ("The Biggest Loser") and Giancarlo Chersich (Empowered Media) along with "The Biggest Loser" producers Mark Koops and Howard T. Owens of Reveille and former "Oprah" executive producer Ellen Rakieten for a riveting new life-changing alternative series "Losing It With Jillian."

In the series, Michaels invades a different family every week to give them her own characteristic brand of tough love. She will get to the bottom of the issues each family member faces -- ones that affect their health and happiness -- and will arm them with the tools necessary to make life-altering changes.

The series will also feature celebrity chef Curtis Stone who will enhance Michaels' efforts by ridding the family's kitchen of all unhealthy foods and educating them on proper nutrition, healthy ingredients, cooking tips and recipes.

The announcement was made today by Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios.

"Jillian is the world's leading lifestyle expert with a signature style all her own," said Telegdy. "Increasing numbers of families seem to need a motivational boost, and we know that Jillian is an awesome force of nature who will help them transform their lives from the inside out."

Michaels added, "When your health is out of balance everything else suffers finances, relationships, work and family dynamics. I'm moving in with families across the country, getting down and dirty and rooting out bad habits in every corner of their lives that are preventing them from health and happiness. Get ready America because I'm heading out and you never know, I might just end up on your doorstep so watch out!"

"It's time for Americans to stop making excuses for being unhealthy and take back their lives. Jillian is going to show them exactly how to do just that starting in their own homes," said executive producer Mark Koops. "This is a natural addition to the Reveille brand of powerful, inspirational series."

"I love the idea of Jillian crisscrossing America to actually move in with families in desperate need of her tough love wake up call. It's the knock on your door that could save your life," said executive producer Ellen Rakieten.

The eight-episode series for 2010 will feature Michaels, the renowned fitness trainer and wellness expert, as she helps unhealthy families to move off their collective couches and put their lives back on more rewarding tracks while Chef Stone helps with proper nutrition.

Michaels' dramatic confrontations will produce inspirational results and ultimately, through her tough love approach, she'll help these families realize that they can finally take control of their lives and make a change for good.

For information on how to apply to be on the show, go to www.nbc.com/casting.

"Losing It With Jillian" is produced by Reveille in association with Empowered Media. Jillian Michaels, Giancarlo Chersich, Mark Koops ("The Biggest Loser," "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins"), Howard T. Owens ("The Biggest Loser," "Breakthrough with Tony Robbins") and Ellen Rakieten ("The Oprah Winfrey Show," NBC's "The Marriage Ref") are the executive producers.

Popular Contestants From The Past Seven Seasons Are Featured, Including Former Winners, Contestants Who Fell In Love On The Show And Those Who Are "Paying It Forward" With New Careers In Health and Wellness

Universal City, Calif. October 13, 2009 NBC's hit series "The Biggest Loser" will catch up with some of the series' most popular contestants from the past seven seasons in the two-hour special "The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?" airing Wednesday, November 25 (8-10 p.m. ET). Season eight of "The Biggest Loser" airs currently on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

More than 40 contestants from seasons one through seven will be featured, showing how they look now and sharing what they've been doing with their lives since being on the show. The special will follow contestants who continue to take on considerable challenges, from running marathons to competing in triathalons, including the Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, and those pursuing incredible dreams, like season five's Dan Evans, now a country music singer.

Former players, some of whom will be surprised by visits from trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels, will also share major milestones, from getting married to having children. And viewers will get to come along to the wedding of one unforgettable contestant! Plus, a special romance segment will catch viewers up with Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston Hoover from season two, and Amy and Marty Wolff from season three, two couples who met and fell in love while on the show and are now married with children.

Since being on "The Biggest Loser," many contestants have chosen to "pay it forward" by switching to careers that promote health and wellness, like season four winner Bill Germanakos, now a wellness ambassador for his company who does motivational speaking all over the country. Season seven cousins Filipe and Sione Fa are working toward their certification as personal trainers, and season one's Drea Baptiste is now a fitness director. Contestants will also share how they've inspired friends and family to make healthy changes in their own lives, like season seven "at home" winner, 64-year-old Jerry Hayes and his wife Estella, who have motivated their daughter into losing a staggering 88 lbs.

Viewers will hear firsthand from those who have struggled to maintain their weight loss, like season three winner Erik Chopin, to those who actually weigh less now than they did at their season finales, like season six's Jerry Skeabeck, once labeled the sickest contestant ever in "Biggest Loser" history. The special will also include home footage of season six winner Michelle Aguilar, season four's favorite cowboy, David Griffin, season two's Dr. Jeff Levine and season two's "at home" winner Pete Thomas, who is seen hosting a mini "Biggest Loser" reunion at his home before a big local event.

Also featured in the special will be season five winner and the first female Biggest Loser, Ali Vincent and her Mom, Bette Sue, season seven winner Helen Phillips and finalists Tara Costa, Ron Morelli and Mike Morelli, and controversial season six player Vicky Vilcan and Mark and Jay Kruger, a popular brother team from season five.

"The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now?" is a production of Reveille LLC, 25/7 Productions and 3Ball Productions. Ben Silverman (NBC's "The Office," "Ugly Betty"), Dave Broome ("A Model Life with Petra Nemcova," "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope"), JD Roth ("Age of Love," "Beauty and the Geek"), Todd A. Nelson ("Unan1mous," "Beauty and the Geek") and Mark Koops ("Breakthrough With Tony Robbins," "Shear Genius") serve as executive producers.

Plus, 64-Year-Old Jerry Hayes from Wheaton, Illinois - The Oldest Contestant In "Biggest Loser" History -- Wins the "At Home" Prize of $100,000 Among Eliminated Contestants

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 13, 2009 - Helen Phillips, a 48-year-old retired retail manager and mother of two, won NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Couples" and $250,000 at last night's live season finale of the hit series. Helen lost 140 lbs. and 54.47% of her body weight to claim the prize. She started the show at 257 lbs. and ended weighing just 117 lbs.

Helen came on "The Biggest Loser: Couples" with her daughter, Shanon Thomas, who started the show at 283 lbs. and weighed 191 lbs. at finale, losing 92 lbs. and 32.51% of her body weight.

Helen and Tara Costa were two of the finalists and America voted to determine who would be the third finalist. In the first part of the live finale, viewers learned that Mike Morelli, a 19-year-old year old college student from South Lyon, Michigan, had beaten his father, 55-year-old Ron Morelli, to win a spot in the finals.

The runner up among the three finalists was Mike, the youngest contestant in the history of the show, who began at 388 lbs. and weighed 181 lbs. at finale. He lost 207 lbs. and 53.35% of his body weight. Coming in third place was Tara, a 24-year-old model/finance manager from New York, NY, who lost 155 lbs. and 52.72% of her body weight. She began the show at 294 lbs. and weighed only 139 lbs. at finale.

The winner of this season's $100,000 "at home" prize among eliminated contestants went to Jerry Hayes, a 64-year-old retired engineer and grandfather from Wheaton, Illinois.
He lost 177 lbs. and 47.97% of his body weight. He started the show weighing 369 lbs. and ended at 192 lbs. He and his wife, Estella, were the oldest contestants in "Biggest Loser" history. Estella began the show at 242 lbs. and lost 83 lbs., weighing just 159 by the finale.

The telecast scored a 4.7 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49 and 11.8 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" fast affiliate-based ratings from Nielsen Media Research. "Biggest Loser" generated NBC's highest-rated Tuesday night in adults 18-49 since December 6, 2005. And it's the highest-rated "Biggest Loser" telecast in adults 18-49 since the finale of the third "Loser" cycle on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 (see separate release).

Tonight, at 9 p.m. ET, this year's winner will make an appearance on QVC. Season five "Biggest Loser" winner Ali Vincent will also appear on QVC throughout the day and for "The Biggest Loser" broadcasts at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET. She will offer signature items from "The Biggest Loser's" healthy lifestyle product line that have helped her keep the weight off a full year later after becoming the first female winner in the show's history.

This season, "The Biggest Loser" partnered with General Mills and Feeding America to launch the Pound for Pound challenge, an initiative that encourages Americans to lose weight and feed the hungry. For every pound viewers pledged to lose, a pound of groceries was delivered to a local food bank. Due to the success of the challenge, more than three million pounds of groceries are being delivered to local food banks across the U.S. And the challenge is continuing! For every pound people pledge to lose this summer, up to one million pounds, General Mills will help Feeding American deliver a pound of groceries to local food banks. Viewers can make pledges through May 31, 2009 at www.biggestloser.com.

"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Reveille LLC, 25/7 Productions and 3Ball Productions. Ben Silverman (NBC's "The Office," "Ugly Betty"), Dave Broome ("A Model Life with Petra Nemcova," "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope"), JD Roth ("Age of Love," "Beauty and the Geek"), Todd A.
Plus, Third Finalist Determined By America's Vote Will Be Revealed In First Part Of Finale!

And America Will Choose One of the New Contestants For the Next Season of the Hit Series!

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - May 7, 2009 - The winner of NBC's hit series "The Biggest Loser: Couples" will be revealed in an exciting, three-hour live finale on Tuesday, May 12 (8-11 p.m. ET). In the first part of the show, the third finalist - as determined by America's vote - will also be revealed. And America will get a chance to choose one of the new contestants for the next season of "The Biggest Loser."

For the season seven finale, all 22 contestants return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time - and to show America how much weight they've lost since the beginning of their weight-loss journeys. The transformations will be profound, not just for the finalists, but also for the eliminated contestants who all continued to lose weight after they left the "Biggest Loser" ranch and returned home.

In the most recent episode, which aired May 5, Tara Costa (New York, N.Y.) and Helen Phillips (Sterling Heights, Mich.) weighed in above the yellow line, securing their spots as two of the three finalists. Ron Morelli (South Lyon, Mich.) and his son, Mike, both fell below the yellow line, leaving viewers to choose between father and son to determine the third place finalist competing for the grand prize of $250,000. America's choice will be revealed in the first part of the finale on May 12, and the contestant who didn't get chosen will compete with the other 18 eliminated players for an "at home" prize of $100,000. Viewers voted by phone and online and the voting window is now over.

America will also get to select a contestant to compete on the next season of "The Biggest Loser," which will premiere in September. Viewers can choose between two potential contestants by casting their votes by phone and online at www.nbc.com, and the winner will be announced near the end of the live finale.

Then it's the moment viewers have been waiting for, when one of the three finalists will be named this season's "Biggest Loser" and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000!

On Wednesday, May 13 at 9 p.m. ET, the day after the live finale, season five "Biggest Loser" winner Ali Vincent is scheduled to appear on QVC throughout the day and for the "Biggest Loser" broadcasts at midnight, 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET. She will offer signature items from "The Biggest Loser's" healthy lifestyle product line that have helped her keep the weight off a full year later after becoming the first female winner in the show's history. This year's winner of "The Biggest Loser: Couples" is also scheduled to make an appearance at 9 p.m. ET.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - April 30, 2009 - The final four contestants, cheered on by five past season winners on the show, will face their toughest challenge yet -- running a full marathon (26.2 miles) -- on the penultimate episode of "The Biggest Loser: Couples" airing Tuesday, May 5 on NBC (8-10 p.m. ET).

First, the final four contestants - Tara Costa (New York, NY), Mike and Ron Morelli (South Lyon, MI) and Helen Phillips (Sterling Heights, MI) head home for 30 days. After heartwarming reunions with family and friends, they try to get back into their routines but find it challenging to make diet and exercise a priority back at home. Adding to the challenge is the news from host Alison Sweeney that when they return to the ranch at the end of 30 days, their final challenge will be their toughest one yet - running a full marathon. Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels make surprise visits to the finalists to help steer them back on track.

Back in California, the final four are off to try to complete the 26.2 mile course. Cheering them on along the way are some past season "Biggest Losers" -- grand prize winners Michelle Aguilar (season 6) and Ali Vincent (season 5), plus "at home" winners Jim Germanakos (season 4), Heba Salama (season 6) and Bernie Salazar (season 5). And as an added incentive, each player who finishes the marathon will get $10,000 to donate to the charity of his or her choice.

Later, it's the very last "last chance workouts" with the trainers before a final weigh in determines who the two definite finalists will be - and which two contestants fall below the dreaded yellow line. Then America will vote to select the third finalist to compete for the grand prize of $250,000. Viewers can vote by phone or online at www.nbc.com. The contestant America has chosen will be revealed in the live season finale on May 12 (8-11 p.m. ET).

"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Reveille LLC, 25/7 Productions and 3Ball Productions. UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - April 8, 2009 - Tim Gunn ("Project Runway") and Tabatha Coffey (Bravo's "Tabatha's Salon Takeover") guest star on one of the most eagerly-anticipated events of each "Biggest Loser" season - the makeover episode airing Tuesday, April 14 (8-10 p.m. ET) on NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Couples."

Before getting glammed up for their makeovers, the remaining seven contestants soar to new heights with this week's challenge. They'll have to cross a canyon - equivalent to a 10-story building at its highest point - on a zipline spanning 700 feet. The winner gets one of the most amazing prizes of the season - a $25,000 kitchen makeover.

After the kitchen makeover is awarded to the challenge winner, the contestants find out from host Alison Sweeney that they will all be getting makeovers. But this season, they'll be getting made over for their very own Hollywood premiere - complete with red carpet, reunions with loved ones, and a movie packed with emotional moments from their weight loss journeys.

First, the contestants head to Macy's where they find fashion guru Tim Gunn waiting to help them pick out stylish new outfits to flatter their slimmer selves. Guest hair stylist Tabatha (Bravo's "Tabatha's Salon Takeover") and celebrity stylist Brandon Martinez transform them further with complete salon makeovers. Then it's time for amazing reveals and emotional reunions when the made-over contestants show off their incredible new looks to loved ones flown in to help them celebrate their big day.

Later, back at the ranch, the contestants head to the gym for last chance workouts. But a visit with Dr. Huizenga reveals that one player is sidelined with a medical injury that will have a dramatic impact on workouts - and could affect her future on the show. And at this week's weigh-in, one player breaks the Biggest Loser record for most weight ever lost at the ranch. Then an emotional elimination sends another player home.

Nelson ("Unan1mous," "Beauty and the Geek") and Mark Koops ("American Gladiators," "Shear Genius") serve as executive producers.
