1 1.25-pound package extra lean ground turkey
1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
2 teaspoons no-salt seasoning
1 cup 0% Greek yogurt
5 slices light cheddar cheese
20 drops green food coloring
5 small whole wheat buns
Drain applesauce in a strainer to eliminate excess liquid. Mix ground turkey, applesauce and no-salt seasoning. Form mixture into 5 small patties. Place turkey burgers on grill. Cook until done and no longer pink in the middle (approximately 8 to 10 minutes). Check internal temperature of burger with a meat thermometer. Meat is done when temperature reaches 165 degrees. In the last minute of cooking, place cheese slices on turkey burgers to melt. In the meantime, mix green food coloring into yogurt. Place burgers on buns and top with yogurt. Makes 5 burgers.
