Take a Trainer Home
Alison drops a bomb on the contestants: this week, another person will be going home. Before there's time to freak out, she informs them the one person chosen to go home will represent his or her entire team at next week's weigh-in and take the team trainer home for the week. A massive wheel with the contestants' faces on it is spun and the lucky/unlucky winner is... Jay from the White Team! Although Jillian is less than thrilled to go to Farmington, Missouri for the week, Jay is ecstatic to see his family again. He's greeted by a packed room of friends and family.
We catch up with Holley's at-home progress - she's dropped to 260 pounds and is training for her first weightlifting competition since the Olympics. She lifts 240 pounds at the competition, qualifying her for the American Open. Her personal goal is to bring home a medal from the 2016 Olympic Games.
Dolvett and Bob push the Red and Blue teams hard this week. Each team is competing against Jay, a man who consistently throws up high numbers on the scale. Dolvett sets his sights on Ruben, trying to motivate him by pulling out his high school football jersey. While the jersey fits, Ruben wants to continue losing weight to become the best he's ever been.
In a brave act, Rachel dives into a competitive pool for the first time in six years. Facing a bathing suit and bad memories were Rachel's worst fears, but she challenges the pool head on. With Dolvett timing her, Rachel continues to push herself and shaves seconds off her lap time.
Meanwhile at Jay's ranch, Jillian utilizes farm tools not found in a conventional gym. She knows Jay can produce great results without the use of traditional gym equipment. Being at his ranch allows Jay and Jillian and tackle the emotional issues associated with his parents' divorce and the loss of his childhood home. With the fate of his team resting on his shoulders, Jay works out harder than ever despite the 100-plus degree weather. But will his hard work be reflected on the scale?
The moment of truth arrives for the teams. Ruben pulls only a two-pound loss, shocking his team and coach. Blue is up next, crushing the Red team's final number with Bobby's 12-pound loss. Now it's between the Red team and Jay... Sweating in humidity does a body good as Jay pulls a 12-pound weight loss! Once again, Ruben is automatically eliminated since the Red team had the lowest weight loss percentage. Next time America sees him, Ruben promises to still be a lovable teddy bear, only without all the stuffing.
