Andrea Wilamowski was motivated to try out for the show because, she says, "For the first time in over 20 years, I want to do something for me. I want to look and feel beautiful again for my family, my co-workers, and most importantly, for me." Wilamowski was born in Battle Creek, Michigan and raised in the small port city of Frankfort, Michigan with three older siblings. She was a high school cheerleader, played basketball, tennis, ran track and, when she attended Michigan State University, danced on an intramural dance team. Wilamowski started gaining weight at 23 years old after an abusive marriage stripped her of her self-confidence. Poor eating habits, no time for exercise, constant stress and working long hours made it hard to find a healthy balance. She never lost all of her pregnancy weight from the birth of her son, now 20. At 43 years old and 244 pounds, Wilamowski is happily married to her second husband and wants to look as great as she finally feels on the inside. She knows her weight is holding her back professionally and wants to be a healthy role model for women. Wilamowski looks forward to doing simple things like crossing her legs like a lady, being active in sports again and buying some sexy clothes once she gets healthy. "I want to show women in general and my team that I can do this. I am turning my life around - and if I can do it, anyone can."
