Chelsea Arthurs says her parents' divorce and the subsequent emotional eating that followed both caused her to gain a significant amount of weight at age 17. Prior to that, Chelsea was active in softball and cheerleading while growing up in Raleigh, North Carolina with an older brother. When she was 17, her parents divorced. She turned to food for comfort and weighed 190 pounds by the time she graduated from high school. Chelsea went on to graduate from Western Carolina University with a degree in hospitality and tourism, but her weight struggles continued. Now 28 years old and 241 pounds, she suffers from high blood pressure and joint pain and is ready to take control of her weight. Chelsea knew she had to change her life and get healthy when her size 16 pants started to get too tight, and she had to wear a size 18 in clothing. Now she says, "I cannot wait to start this journey in my life," and looks forward to buying trendy clothes, becoming a fitness instructor and motivating others.
