At 25 years old and 359 pounds, Nathan "Nate" Montgomery's primary motivation for going on "The Biggest Loser" is to live a long and healthy life with his girlfriend. He also wants to lose weight so he can live up to his full potential. Nate was born in Framingham, Massachusetts and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado at four years old, where he has lived ever since. Growing up as an only child in a single parent family was lonely at times, so Nathan really enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of sports. He played baseball in high school and basketball with the neighborhood kids. He started gaining weight as a teenager, and feels like fast food was a contributing factor as well as a less active lifestyle after moving to the country and away from friends. A car accident at age 17 left him with fractured vertebrae, and staying active became an even greater challenge. Once he loses the weight, Nate looks forward to travelling the world, fitting comfortably in airplane seats and being able to do all the things he couldn't do because of his weight, like skydiving, whitewater rafting and mountain climbing. As a former Eagle Scout, Nate also looks forward to someday being a scoutmaster when he has children, so he can take them and other scouts on the kinds of adventures he enjoyed in his youth.
