At 48 years old and 219 pounds, registered nurse Kim Stone wants to lose weight and get healthy so she can be a good example for her children and siblings as well as the people and patients she works with daily. Kim was born in St. Louis and raised primarily in Missouri, the oldest of five children. Her weight gain began after a failed pregnancy in her second marriage. Before she could lose that weight, she became pregnant again soon after with her daughter, and the weight gain continued, especially after the passing of her father. Kim says her "aha moment" came as she was close to getting her bachelor's degree in nursing and facing the one-year anniversary of her mother's death, and she realized she too could die young if she didn't make a major life overhaul. Now the married mother of three adult children, Kim suffers from type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and hypothyroidism. After losing the weight, she hopes to become a motivational speaker and touch as many lives in a positive way as she can.
