Bob Harper | Trainer
Harper grew up on a cattle farm in Nashville, Tennessee, before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. It was a serendipitous meeting with a trainer that motivated Harper to become an influence in the fitness industry. He has since received certifications from the American Fitness Training of Athletics Association, the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America, Kettlebell, Level 1 CrossFit and CrossFit Olympic Lifting. With his breadth of expertise, Harper has developed his trademark brand of fitness and nutritional integration that leads to lasting lifestyle transformations - becoming an authority on wellness through motivating others by applying his â€œInside Outâ€ philosophy.
The Inside Out method is a raw challenging integration of mind, body and spiritual fitness that aggressively pushes the mental and physical capacity further than ever before to reach a greater sense of accomplishment that empowers a better body and overall life. Harperâ€™s book â€œThe Skinny Rulesâ€ hit bookshelves in the spring of 2012, debuting a number one on the New York Times best-seller list, and for countless weeks remaining steadfast in the number one slot. â€œThe Skinny Rulesâ€ focuses on Harperâ€™s â€œsimple, non-negotiable principles for getting thin,â€ full of easy, practical do-it-yourself recipes for any body type, and simple-to-follow rules. Inspired by the husband of a former contestant, Harper hit pen to paper when he learned the husband started eating healthy in order to feel closer to his wife while on the show. He began eating everything Harper tweeted (which is coincidentally the first chapter in â€œThe Skinny Rules,â€ â€œEat What I Tweet!â€). His method resulted in the unbelievable loss of more than 100 pounds. Harper has made it as simple as the title suggests, and evidently, America seems to agree.
No stranger to the world of publishing, Harper published Bobâ€™s first book, â€œAre You Ready!: Take Charge, Lose Weight, Get in Shape, and Change,â€ in 2008, and it became a well-received staple by fans and lifestyle gurus across the globe. In 2010, Harper launched his DVD series, â€œBob Harper - Inside Out Method,â€ a high-performance, results-centered training program comprised of four discs featuring strength, cardio, yoga and personal training workouts.
In addition to Harperâ€™s books and DVD series, the unparalleled fitness guru created another branch of his lifestyle empire with his Contour Kettlebells. The design is the first and only ergonomically shaped kettlebell created to reduce forearm strain often experienced during workouts. In true Harper fashion, each product features a power-packed instructional disc with training by Harper himself. He has also released two kettlebell exercise DVDs for purchase as supplements to the product.
As a result of Harperâ€™s ever-growing popularity as a trusted lifestyle specialist, Quaker Oats has recently enlisted him as its lifestyle coach and advocate for living a healthier everyday life.
Harper launched his newest DVD, â€œUltimate Cardio Body,â€ on February 8, 2011. The DVD features two extreme workouts: the â€œExtreme Cardio Challengeâ€ and the â€œ10-Minute Glute Challenge.â€ â€œUltimate Cardio Bodyâ€ pushes your cardio workout to the maximum level for noticeable, fat-reducing and muscle-refining results. Throughout the workouts, Harper passionately motivates viewers with his signature style: Push it hard. Burn it up. Sweat it out. Harper currently resides in Los Angeles with his rescued dog, Karl, a Havanese mix, and regularly teaches classes in LA.
